Biomass Power Generation

Biomass refers to English bio (biological resources) and mass (quantity).
An organic resource created from water and carbon dioxide (CO2),
which is an inorganic matter using solar energy.

Petroleum, coal, etc. are originally changed in plant resources,
Because it takes many years to be created, it is not considered a recyclable resource.

There are various kinds of biomass, it can be broadly divided into three categories.

1:Waste-based biomass
Usually treated as waste,building waste materials, lumber factory remnants, livestock excreta and
food processing residues etc are included.
2: Unused biomass
Rice straw, wheat straw and other agricultural crop non-edible parts and
forest residue such as thinned timber and damaged trees, resources that
have not been used and have not been used for electric power generation.

3:Resource crops
It is a crop cultivated for use as energy source and product material, not for food,
such as Sugar cane, sugar beet, corn, rape seeds and sunflower, which are raw materials
for starch.

Benefits of biomass power generation

1: Effective utilization of resource
Biofuel materials can generate electricity by utilizing waste
that was originally disposed of, such as waste of agricultural
crops and waste materials of building materials, making
effective use of resources possible.

2: Earth-friendly energy with no environmental impact
Biomass fuel emits carbon dioxide (CO2) when used as fuel.
However, because this carbon dioxide (CO2) to be discharged is
carbon dioxide (CO2) for the amount of plants taken in
photosynthesis, biomass power generation is energy
that does not increase the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

※ The idea that carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions will be zero
when carbon dioxide (CO2) taken in by plants is equal to it
discharged when used as fuel is called "carbon neutral".

3: Formation of recycling-oriented society is possible
A recycling-oriented society means a society that preciously
uses limited natural resources and coexists with the earth.
Biomass power generation, which leads to reuse and reduction
of waste,will greatly contribute to the creation of a
recycling-oriented society.

4: Fostering industries strategically
 It is expected to stimulate the local economy and create jobs
by using energy in the area. Also, creating local energy in the
community and using it in the community may lead to revitalization
of local community and of each local economic residents' mind.

Wood biomass power generation

Woody biomass power generation means power generation by turning a turbine with fuel processed into chips such as pellets, such as unused materials of forests.

There are two types of wood biomass power generation.
"steam turbine system" for generating electricity using steam produced by heat burning sawn timber and wood chips and
"gasification - engine (gas turbine) system" for gasifying and burning woody biomass material .

Biodiesel power generation

Biodiesel power generation means a power generation method using diesel fuel substitute fuels produced from "bio-based fats and oils" such as oil crops such as rapeseed, sunflower and palm oil, and waste edible oil.

Unlike fossil fuels, biodiesel fuel is one of the biofuels with the characteristic of "carbon neutral" that does not increase the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

The major countries of biodiesel power generation are France, Germany and Italy. In Europe that leads the production of biodiesel power generation, rapeseed fresh oil is mainly used for biodiesel power generation and  new soybean oil in U.S.A.

Biodiesel fuel is steadily rooted in society.
